Hello Everyone,

We hope your 2025 is off to a good start and continues to be an excellent year for you and your family. This year brings quite a change for us. At the end of 2024 we decided to retire from real estate after over 40 years for me and 20 for Judy.

Thanks to clients and friends like you it has been an extremely rewarding and enjoyable career, but it was time. Golf and grandkids will now fill our days. We are both healthy, strong and looking forward to our next stage of life. We would like to thank you for trusting us with your real estate needs over the years. It has meant the world to us, and we appreciate it more than we can ever say.

We didn’t want our much-valued clients to feel abandoned so we gave lots of thought to who did business most like us and would be the best real estate sales professional to recommend to you. That person is Ian Hamilton.

About Sandy and Judy Hines

Sandy has been in real estate his entire working life. He started real estate right out of university after completing a Bachelor of Commerce degree. In his more than 40 years in real estate he has always been a salesperson but he has also had duties as a manager, broker and a trainer. He has been a sales award winner every year since he began his career showing his dedication and success in the business.

Judy joined Sandy in real estate in 2005. She was always involved in Sandy's business so her real estate knowledge was extensive before she entered the business. Judy has also been a successful business person for years. She started Judy's Early Learning Preschool and owned and operated it until 2020. Judy brings the experience of dealing with people, her knowledge of childcare and the education system in Halifax and her understanding of what children need when moving to a new place to the partnership. Many buyers have commented that it was nice to have both a women's and man's perspective during their house hunting trip.

On the personal side Sandy and Judy are originally from Cape Breton Island. They have one daughter. They have always been active volunteers, having been involved in Bedford Minor Basketball, Bedford Days Organizing Committee, Bedford Minor Baseball, and several other smaller organizations. They were founding members of the Light Up Bedford Parade which is an annual Christmas parade for charity. Sandy was even nominated for HRM Volunteer of Year. Sandy is an avid but average golfer. He also likes to play guitar, mainly at parties, but has been told he is the worst singer in HRM. He accepts that but it doesn't stop him from trying anyway.
